This memoir A Country to Love and Serve – grants a rare access into the challenges of diplomatic life. Rarely does a child get to witness the evolution of her parent. This memoir allowed me to do just that in respect of my mother as well as give me a deeper appreciation of and gratitude for my parents’ sacrifices to provide my sisters and I the foundation to be the women that we are today… It’s a journey that I feel privileged to have taken. It was a worthwhile journey on so many fronts.

Alexander Kwame Archine
Ambassador Kumi’s book is more than just a personal account of the life of an exceptional Ghanaian public servant. Her very compelling life story is played out against the back drop of the social history of Ghana and the world. The book also chronicles the political economy of Ghana’s foreign policy from an insider’s perspective. Written in an easy prose, it makes for an irresistible narrative and is recommended reading for students and scholars of African diplomacy and international affairs.
